Abstract

In this paper we analyse the quality of the functional regionalisation of Slovenia at the level of eight and twelve (functional) regions. The functional regions were modelled with average annual labour commuting flows between Slovenian municipalities in the years 2015-2018 using the CURDS and Intramax methods. The results were compared with the systems of twelve statistical and eight macro-regions in Slovenia. The quality of functional regionalisation was analysed using a revised method for calculating the fuzzy values of the affiliation of the basic spatial units to the (functional) region. The results of a case study for Slovenia show a high quality level of functional regionalisation of eight macro-regions.
